Food department seize illegally used 39 LPG cylinders
The Food Department raided the gas refilling center in Anand Nagar and seized a total of 39 cylinders, in which 25 domestic, 3 commercial and 11 small cylinders were recovered.
The gas was being refilled in the smallest cylinder at the center which was very dangerous and could lead to a massive accident.
Raja Mehra was running a gas refilling center in Anand Nagar. District Supply Controller Jyoti Shah Narwaria said, gas was being refilled in small cylinders. Refilling work was going on when raid was conducted.
The cost of the seized cylinder is around Rs 1.5 lakh. The electronic weighing fork has also been seized. After filling the gas in this small cylinder, it was weighed. A case has been registered under sections 3 and 7 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
