Follow rule to find successor of Delhi Metro MD: Ministry
In a fresh stand-off, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has asked Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev to follow selection procedure adopted in 2011 for successor of Mangu Singh, Managing Director of Delhi Metro.
This comes after Delhi Government formed its own selection committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as chairman. The committee is expected to meet on Monday to find out Mangu Singh’s successor. Singh’s tenure has already ended but he has been given an extension till selection of new MD.
In a letter written to Dev, MoHUA secretary Manoj Joshi reminded that a selection committee comprising Urban Development Secretary Dr. Sudhir Krishna, Delhi Chief Secretary PK Tripathi, and Delhi Metro chief E Sreedharan had selected Delhi Metro chief in 2011.
