Focus on infra, investment, innovation, inclusiveness to make India developed nation by 2047: FM
Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government is focusing on four ‘I’s — infrastructure, investment, innovation and inclusivity — to put in place an “enabling ecosystem” that will catapult India into the league of developed nations by 2047.
Through record capital spending outlays, the government has walked the extra mile in recent years in creating durable assets, both in the physical and digital spheres, Sitharaman said Saturday at an event organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). “We are looking for both public and private investments and creating the necessary environment for attracting private investment,” she said at a session moderated by 15th Finance Commission chairman NK Singh. “Blended finance, on which global discussions are going on, is also something that we are looking at.”
