Flyer arrested for ‘mistakenly’ trying to open emergency exit door onboard Nagpur-Bengaluru flight

A man from Nagpur was arrested after allegedly trying to open the emergency exit door of a flight minutes before take-off on Saturday night, police said.

Swapnil Holey was apprehended by the authorities when the IndiGo’s Nagpur-Bangkok flight via Bengaluru reached the Kempegowda International Airport around 11.50 pm on Saturday night.

He was subsequently handed over to the Bengaluru International Airport Police on Sunday morning and booked under IPC Section 336 (acts endangering the life or personal safety of others). He was released on station bail after police recorded his statement.
