Flight carrying 83 Odias arrives in city

The first-ever special Indigo flight carrying 173 non-resident Indians (NRIs), including 83 Odia people, from Saudi Arabia arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Monday evening.

Their health screening was conducted inside the airport. Most of the passengers belong to Jajpur, Khordha, Cuttack, Brahmapur and Jagatsinghpur districts. The repatriation exercise was managed by Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia Dr Ausaf Sayeed. All the passengers conveyed their gratitude to both the Union Government and the State Government.

This is the 2nd repatriation flight from Saudi Arabia to Bhubaneswar as the first international flight carrying Odia passengers from Dammam to Bhubaneswar had arrived at the BPIA on June 16.
