Five suspended for negligence after compounder electrocuted by high tension line

Following the death of a compounder on cycle in Haldwani on last Friday after he came in contact with a high tension line and was electrocuted fatally, the State government has taken action against the officials responsible.

A total of five officials including the UPCL assistant engineer and sub divisional officer have been suspended for negligence. The ASO of the area who had been appointed through UPNL has been removed from service.

CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had taken serious cognisance of the incident and had directed the power secretary Radhika Jha to get it probed by a senior officer. The officers were suspended on the basis of the inquiry report.
