Finding fresh legs for the Global Energy Transition

The climate situation is turning precarious with every passing year. The global mean temperature in September 2023 was 1.82 ± 0.09 °C above the 1850 to 1900 average, a new record for the highest temperature excess of any month. The previous record for warmest September was broken by a staggering 0.5 °C. Many things need to come together to prevent a climate disaster, the most immediate of which is clean energy. About three quarters of global greenhouse gas emissions are from fossil fuels. As a consequence, decarbonizing energy has been a global priority for some time.
