FedEx plane overshoots runway at Mumbai airport due to pilot error

NEW DELHI : A McDonnell Douglas aircraft operated by FedEx on Wednesday overshot the runway while landing at the Mumbai airport

after the pilot of the aircraft took a wrong turn while landing at the airport.

“On 3 June, a FedEx flight traveling from Bangalore to Mumbai, after landing at the Mumbai airport runway number 14/32, and while vacating the runway turned right instead of left on TWY E1, leading to runway excursion,” said a official of Indian watchdog Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) adding that the incident is being investigated by the agency.
