Farmers cut power to 4 Jio telecom towers in Jalandhar
JALANDHAR: In fresh round of trouble for telecom firm owned by a major corporate group in Punjab after calls for porting numbers, power supply to four of its towers was snapped by activists of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Rajewal) on Monday and Tuesday in Jalandhar district. This started from Samrai village on Monday and on Tuesday they snapped power supply to three towers in Jandiala Manjki village by cutting electricty wires.
This is the most serious trouble for the firm after initial phase of calls for porting numbers and several people doing it.
Around 50 farmers led by BKU (Rajewal) district Jalandhar youth wing president Amarjot and Rurka Kalan block president Pargat Singh Sarhali gathered and executed this operation of snapping electricty supply to the farmers.
