Farmer attacks power technician, takes him home to fix power supply disconnected after rain
A 40-year-old farmer was arrested in Maval for allegedly assaulting an MSEDCL technician and forcing him to come to his house under duress to fix the power supply that was disrupted due to the rain.
An FIR in this case was registered by Praveen Mabhukar Jambhulkar (44), who is a senior technician with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL). The incident took place on July 24 at 3 pm when Jambhulkar was going to Ambi village in Maval taluka on his two-wheeler to check the status of a power transformer.
The FIR states that the accused, Prakash Darekar (40), a farmer from Ambi village, blocked Jambhulkar’s way. Darekar then assaulted Jambhulkar with a stick, injuring his hand, police said.
