Exporters seek clarity on EU’s carbon certification

Exporters are awaiting clarity on how the European Union will give certification on various industries’ carbon footprint when the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) kicks in from Sunday, even as the government tries to get exemption for small businesses.

CBAM will impact the cement, iron and steel, aluminium, fertiliser, electricity and hydrogen sectors.
