‘Expedite coal auctions to ease prices’
Power project developers have sought expediting exclusive coal auctions for 13 Gw of plants that neither get coal supplies from Coal India NSE -1.53 % nor have power-purchase agreements.
Developers said operationalisation of the plants can help ease prices in power exchanges that are currently hovering near the ceiling rate of ₹12 per unit in peak hours. The average price on the exchanges is ₹4-5 a unit.
