EV charging facility made mandatory for non-residential buildings in U’khand

In a major decision to encourage the use of electric vehicles and generate an infrastructure for charging facilities for these new age pollution free vehicles, the Uttarakhand government has made it mandatory for all the non-residential buildings to set up electricity charging stations in their vehicle parking space. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the State cabinet chaired by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and held at the State secretariat on Thursday. As per the plan all the new non-residential buildings such as group housing societies, hotels, motels, multiplexes and guest houses proposed to be constricted in an area which is in excess of 1,500 square metres should reserve 10 per cent of their approved Equivalent Parking Space (EPS)
