Data revealed that in India, over 168,000 people were killed in road crashes in 2022 an increase of around 10 per cent over the previous year according to latest figures released by country’s central government in October in the recent ‘Road Accidents in India-2022’ report. This translates to 19 deaths and 53 accidents every hour. India continues to lead the global chart for the highest number of road-crash fatalities, as depicted by the latest statistics.
