Ensure use of good quality material in Smart Roads: Singh

Urban Development and Housing Minister CP Singh on Sunday directed the officials to conduct regular quality check of materials being used in construction of Smart Roads of the city.

Singh inspected the under construction smart roads on Sunday and took detailed information about the chips, steel and other material being used in the construction.

Giving directions to the officials, Singh said, “Ensure that the level for drainage flow is checked and utility duct cleaned properly before being covered up. Once constructed the road shall not be cut again the utility duct should not be broken.”

The minister directed construction of bus stops at regular intervals to ensure that high speed traffic on these roads is not disrupted. Also, He also directed to ensure cycle lanes of both sides of the roads, as mentioned in the plan.
