Energy Conservation Amendment Bill in Lok Sabha

New Delhi: The government introduced the Energy Conservation (Amendment) Bill, 2022 in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

The Bill has provisions for mandatory minimum use of non-fossil sources, including green hydrogen and green ammonia for feedstock, setting up carbon trading markets and bringing large residential buildings under the ambit of energy conservation.

ET reported on April 20 that the government was thinking of making new residential buildings comply mandatorily with the energy efficiency code.
