Ease of name change on power bill after flat, shop sale: MSEDCL
MUMBAI: Following a directive from deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MSEDCL) has simplified the procedure for change of name on electricity bills after sale of flat or shop or any commercial establishment.
“The power utility has done away with paperwork and checks by officials whi-ch were time consuming,” an official from MSEDCL headquarters at Bandra said. So, the procedure, which took weeks, will now be done in a few days, sources said.
MSEDCL managing director Vijay Singhal said the new step was taken as part of the state government’s ‘ease-of-living’ initiative. “We want consumers to face minimum hassle while changing the name of the power bill,” he said.
