Dubai ban on Air India Express revoked, flights to operate as scheduled

MUMBAI: Dubai has revoked the 15-day ban it imposed on Air India Express, said an Air India spokesperson on Friday evening. Earlier in the day, Dubai had imposed a ban on Air India Express flights upto October 2, after two passengers had recently flown to Dubai on board the airline flights with COVID positive test reports.
Air India put out a tweet at 7.30 pm stating that, “All Air India Express flights from/to Dubai will oerpate as per original schedule with effect from tomorrow, September 19,2020.”
On Thursday, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority in a letter sent to Air India Express named the passenger concerned who was seated on 4C on board flight IX 1135 on September 4. The said passenger was issued a COVID positive test report on September 2 by a diagnostic centre in India, said the letter naming the passenger and the diagnostic centre.
