Door to door garbage collection charge likely to be added to electricity bill

The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun officers have said that the charge involving the door to door garbage collection might be added to the electricity bills of the residents. They said that the new system once introduced would stop the erratic payment of the charges the civic body takes for the door to door garbage collection service being provided to the residents.

Notably, Rs 50 is collected from every family for the door to door garbage collection service every month. However, the collection is far less than what the civic body should get on this count. The civic body officers said that adding the bill to the electricity bill would solve the problem of erratic payment and the right amount would get into its coffers. The matter is likely to be raised during the board meeting slated on February 28.
