Does 5G endanger flying? Here’s a decoder on the issue & the way ahead
The world over, there is much excitement over the implementation of the fifth-generation telecommunication network service (5G). Alongside the excitement, there have also been concerns from many corners about the safety of the network ecosystem. One sector already concerned on a practical level is aviation. Since January 19, when C-band 5G service was scheduled to start in the US, many international flights of airlines including Air India, to major destinations in the US, have been cancelled due to the concerns of safety.
US telecom operators AT&T and Verizon had started their 5G services on Wednesday, before deferring for the towers in the close vicinity of major US airports.
