Mumbai: Train services on Central Railway (CR) were hit on Friday afternoon after heavy congestion on the level crossing (LC) gate at Diva, forcing it to remain open for nearly half an hour. The congestion led to cascading delays of up to 45 minutes on several local and outstation trains between Kurla and Kalyan.
According to CR officials, LC Gate No. 29 at Diva remained open between 12.20 pm and 12.46 pm as vehicles jammed the crossing and prevented railway staff from shutting the gates.
