Discom losses down by 38% in FY20: R K Singh

Cumulative losses of state-owned power distribution companies dropped by 38% last fiscal to Rs 38,000 crore on the back of reduced operational and commercial losses, power and renewable energy minister R K Singh said on Friday.

The losses stood at Rs 61,000 crore in 2018-19, he said. He said the gap between average cost of supply and revenue of discoms reduced to 38 paise in 2019-20 against 42 paise a year ago.
