Dholera solar bid cancellation: Energy firms send SOS to PMO on Gujarat’s U-turn

Mumbai: Developers have approached the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to protest against Gujarat’s recent decision to cancel 700 MW of solar power tenders after giving letters of award (LoA) to ReNew Power, Tata Power and O2 Power, among others.

Aggrieved developers and investors said the move could lead to a global investor backlash. They are planning to move the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity as early as this week to challenge the cancellation, according to people aware of the matter. The issue is also likely to be taken up at a diplomatic level through the respective embassies, they said.
