DGCA to decide fate of 737 Max: Boeing
NEW DELHI : Boeing Co. said on Thursday that a return to Indian skies of the 737 Max jetliner will depend on the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The aviation regulator, however, reiterated that it is “not in a hurry” to lift a nearly two-year-long ban on operating the aircraft, which has been grounded since March 2019 after fatal crashes involving Lion Air Flight 610 on 29 October 2018 and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 on 10 March 2019.
“We are working with the DGCA and (other) global regulators to return (737) Max to service,” Salil Gupte, president, Boeing India, said at a virtual media conference.
