DGCA suspends two SpiceJet pilots for Delhi runway incursion incident
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Thursday said it has suspended the licences of two SpiceJet pilots, who were responsible for a runway incursion incident at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport on 27 August.
The pilots — captain Bhushan Nanda, and captain Trishla Chandola — were issued showcause notice by the regulator on 18 September, seeking their responses in 15 days. Subsequently, the DGCA suspended the pilots’ licenses for three months, effective 28 August.
“Whereas the reply received has been examined, the PIC (pilot in command) has accepted his lapse that he crossed the holding point,” DGCA said in the statement.
