DGCA slaps Rs 1.10 crore penalty on Air India, terminates top flight inspector
The civil aviation regulator has levied a penalty of Rs 1.10 crore on Air India for safety violation in its Boeing 777 aircraft. The Tata Group airline said it may contest the fine.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has also terminated services of its chief flight operations inspector Vivek Chabbra. Chabbra, an Air India pilot himself, had got an extension last year as the regulator’s chief inspector.
