DGCA makes it mandatory for passengers to follow Covid SOPs

In view of the rising number of Covid-19 cases in several parts of the country, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday made it mandatory for air passengers to follow protocols and asked all Indian airlines to strictly enforce them. It also asked the airlines to take action against those who fail to comply with the rules.

In a statement, the DGCA said it will be conducting “random checks” in aircraft across the country to see if the COVID-19 protocol is being enforced or not. “Airlines have to ensure that passengers are wearing face masks properly throughout journey and there is proper sensitisation of passengers through various platforms, it mentioned.
