DGCA brings all its services online; time taken for approvals to come down by 10%
The completion of bringing services online at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will bring down time taken in getting approvals by 10%, aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said today.
“For licences of pilots, the whole process was done by post and then through physical appointments… Now, it will all be online. Earlier AMEs and ATCOs would have licence booklet and now it is a smart card with a chip on it,” Scindia said.
“As time evolves, so does the government. We are working to make our government customer-centric. There was a crying need to decentralise the functioning… I congratulate the DGCA for becoming constructive collaborators and not restrictive regulators with this move,” he added.
