DGCA assures trouble-shooting of P&W engine issues

Constant monitoring and remedial measures

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) today assured fliers that the incidents with Airbus (neos), fitted with Pratt & Whitney engines, are being monitored by the aviation regulator and are seeing improvement. It is monitoring the performance of these engines and taking appropriate measures including grounding the aircraft if needed, the statement said.

Mid-air scares & on-ground glitches

A total of 127 P&W engine-powered A320neo planes of the two airlines — GoAir and IndiGo — have been facing glitches both mid-air and on-ground since their induction way back in 2016, which has also led to grounding of some planes.
