Delhi: PWD fills cave-in under IIT flyover, DJB fixes pipeline

NEW DELHI: A portion of Aurobindo Road under IIT flyover that had caved in due to water leakage on Saturday was filled with mud, sand and loose gravel by PWD on Sunday. The underground water pipeline was repaired by Delhi Jal Board, while an upstream manhole was being plugged.

The cave-in had resulted in formation of a crater of 15-feet length, 10-feet breadth and 10-feet depth. The damaged area had been cordoned off, but the crossing was opened to the public by Sunday evening. Earlier, DJB had issued an advisory stating that repair work could disrupt water supply in Green Park, Hauz Khas, RK Puram, Sarvapriya Vihar and adjoining areas.
