Delhi peak power demand touches season’s high at 5,925-mw
NEW DELHI: Delhi’s peak power demand touched season’s high at 5,925 mw on Thursday afternoon due to ongoing heat wave conditions.
Because of the weather and the lock-down, Delhi’s peak power demand was muted. But it has been steadily increasing for the past few days.
BSES Delhi discoms, BSES Rajdhani Power (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Ltd (BYPL) said they met the peak power demand of 2720 mw and 1341 mwrespectively. Last year, Delhi’s peak power demand had clocked 7409 mw. In BRPL’s area it was 3211 mw and in BYPL1686 mw.
Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL) said it met the peak power demand of 1713 mw on Thursday afternoon, highest for this season, without any network constraint and power outage.
