Delhi: IGI’s cargo unit to store at least 75 lakh vaccine shots/day
NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi International Airport has started making arrangements to store Covid-19 vaccine. Officials said on Wednesday that IGI’s cargo unit would be able to hold around 75 lakh vaccine vials every day. Manpower to handle the temperature-sensitive immunity product will be increased when the vaccines reach Delhi.
Though Drugs Controller General of India is yet to give emergency-use authorisation to any of the Covid vaccines being tested or in use across the world, there are steps being taken for their eventual arrival in the city.
Named Sanjivani after the herb of mythology capable of resuscitating the almost dead, the vaccine preparedness exercise requires all government regulations to be complied with, an airport official said,
