Delhi: How ground vehicle ended up under nose of parked aircraft
NEW DELHI: A GoFirst ground vehicle, which was probably driven by an over-worked driver, narrowly avoided hitting a parked IndiGo Airbus A320 at the Delhi airport on Tuesday morning.
Luckily, the driver, who was not found tipsy in tests later, managed to stop the car just in front of the aircraft nose wheel and did not ram the plane. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is probing the incident.
“The IndiGo aircraft VT-ITZ was parked at stand number 201 at Terminal 2 of IGI Airport to operate as 6E-2022 to Patna. A GoFirst ground Maruti Swift Dzire vehicle came close to this aircraft and stopped under its nose area. There was no damage to the aircraft or injury to any person,” said a DGCA official.
