Delhi HC refuses to grant urgent relief to Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal

New Delhi: Delhi High Court on Tuesday refused to grant urgent relief to founder of Jet Airways Naresh Goyal, and sought response from the Centre on his plea to travel abroad.

The court was hearing Goyal’s petition which challenges the lookout circular (LOC) issued against him on the ground that as on May 25, when he was de-boarded from a flight to Dubai, no case was registered against him.

Senior counsel Maninder Singh, who appeared for Goyal, argued that when Goyal and his wife were de-boarded there was no material to show any attempt to evade the investigation and since they were non-resident Indians (NRI), they had to travel abroad from time to time. The counsel further argued that there has been a restriction on the fundamental right of the petitioner.
