Delhi HC issues notice to Centre in Reliance Power mine cancellation case
The Delhi High Court on August 4 issued a notice to the Centre, seeking its response to Reliance Power’s plea challenging the government’s decision to cancel a coal mine attached to the Sasan ultra mega power project.
The company had last week filed a writ petition in the high court against the gazette notification issued on May 7 by the government deallocating the Chhatrasal coal block in Madhya Pradesh.
The company in its petition said that the availability of coal from Chhatrasal along with two other mines – Moher and Moher Amlohri Extension coal blocks – was a fundamental condition and the foundation of the bid, which resulted in offering highly competitive tariff.
