Delhi Govt forms committee for autos-taxis fare revision

The Delhi Government on Wednesday set up a fare revision committee for auto-rickshaws and taxis to revise their fares in the national Capital in the wake of growing demands from the unions due to massive rise in the CNG, Petrol and diesel prices. The unions of auto, taxis and cab aggregators on Monday went on strike, pressing their demand to increase fares. Top sources said that Special Commissioner (Transport) will be chairman of the committee. The committee is expected to submit their recommendations within 30 days. The fare revision committee would comprise DC (Vehicle Inspection Unit/Auto Rickshaw Unit/Taxi Unit), the Deputy Commissioner and the Deputy Controller of Accounts, along with 2 nominated District Transport Officers (DTOs) and a technical expert.
