Delhi: Consumers to soon get multiple options to continue power subsidy

NEW DELHI: The Delhi government is soon going to start the process of asking domestic consumers if they wish to continue availing of the subsidy on up to 400 units of monthly consumption of electricity. According to sources, there will be multiple options for consumers to opt for the subsidy.
Sources in the government said both the rollout of the process and a draft letter from chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to consumers were being finalised. The government is toying with the idea of giving consumers the option of registering through WhatsApp to continue the subsidy, they added.
The electricity bill sent to consumers will have a QR code, which the consumer will need to scan, after which the registration form will be activated and they will be able to give their ascent for subsidy through WhatsApp by entering their CA number, sources said.
