Delhi Airport’s second runway closure extended till THIS date! Here’s what is causing the delay

The Delhi Airport officials have said that the airport’s second runway, known as runway 28/10, will remain shut till February 2, The Indian Express reported. The runway has been under renovation since September 2023 and was due to be reopened on December 15. However, it has been met with several delays. After a line of postponements, the airport was last set to reopen on January 10, 2024.

Hurdles hindering the reopening

The authorities have said that the several hurdles derailed the project’s finishing. As per sources, post the G20 Summit, the airport was left with a compressed timeline for the project, before Low Visibility Procedure started at the airport on December 15.
