Delhi: 4.8km elevated link with Haryana likely
NEW DELHI: The Public Works Department has recently submitted a proposal to road engineering overseer Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (Planning & Engineering) Centre (UTTIPEC) for the construction of a 4.8km elevated corridor between outer Delhi and Haryana. The project is one of the 77 road interventions planned at traffic hotspots that need decongesting.
According to PWD officials, the construction of such an elevated corridor would give relief from traffic jams to vehicles on the Najafgarh-Phirni Road, Kapashera Road, Dhansa Road and Bahadurgarh Road. The plan proposes seven ramps on the elevated, one-carriageway road. The driving distance between Delhi and Haryana will also be reduced.
