Delhi: 15 evacuation flights to and from IGI Airport since March 23
NEW DELHI: Since the suspension of international flights from this Monday, Delhi airport has seen over 15 evacuation flights bringing Indians stranded back home from abroad and foreign countries taking their citizens from here. Since the ban, 280 Indians have come back to the country from Iran by Mahan Air.
Lufthansa Group Austrian operated a Delhi-Vienna on Thursday and the parent airline will operate another evacuation flight to Frankfurt from the capital in the early hours of Friday.
Among the flights taking foreigners back to their country, Aeroflot operated an aircraft to Moscow with 300 passengers, Japan Airlines with 197, Ukraine with 98, Lufthansa with 500, Air India took 300 Israelis to Tel Aviv and a flights each to Colombo and Sharjah with 140 flyers.
