Defence, space agencies release 99% of EEZ prohibited areas for oil exploration and production
In a significant strategic call to prioritise energy security, the government has got defence and space agencies to release 99% of areas prohibited for security reasons in India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) for oil exploration and production (E&P). Until recently, 42% of EEZ were ‘no go’ areas, which is now down to just 1%.
