CSPDCL issues notice to striking contract employees
The Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Co (CSPDCL) on Saturday issued notice to striking contractual workers to return to work. Meanwhile, alternative arrangements have been made for maintaining power supply across the state.
The CSPDCL said in a statement that contractual workers have been boycotting work since March 10. The company had been asking them to end the strike.
The company on April 21 held discussion with the contractual workers. Three of their five demands had been fulfilled earlier: hike in wages, reimbursement of medical expenses in case of accidents during work and compensation in case of death.
