Crude oil prices on Monday rose by Rs 43 to Rs 8,661 per barrel as participants widened positions on a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for June delivery traded higher by Rs 43 or 0.5 per cent at Rs 8,661 per barrel in 7,787 lots.
Analysts said the raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.
