CPI (ML) demands roll back of hike in cooking gas price

The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) demanded roll back of the Rs 50 hike in the price of domestic cooking gas and said the government had failed to tackle inflation.

In a statement, CPI (ML) state secretary Sudhakar Yadav said the government was “looting” money from the public by hiking the prices of cooking gas and other commodities in the name of crisis due to the Russia-Ukraine war.

“The cooking gas was already expensive and the government has announced a fresh hike of Rs 50 per cylinder. The way inflation is rising, it has become a cause of concern. The government should control the prices and roll back the hike on cooking gas,” he said.
