Covid impact: Bengaluru airport’s passenger volumes fall 66% last fiscal

The Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru saw its passenger volumes drop by 66 per cent in the year 2020-21 over the previous year due to Covid-19 induced lockdowns and travel restrictions.

The airport had 32.3 million passenger traffic in 2019-20, and the same declined to 10.91 million. The airport was opened to passenger flights only on May 25 in 2020 after two-months of lockdown.
