Councillors irked over delay in installation of LED street lights

Irked over the delay in the installation of over 60,000 LED street lights in the new wards, congress councillors led by Mahanagar congress president Lal Chand Sharma approached the municipal commissioner on Thursday and sought prompt action on the matter.

They alleged that the corporation has not started the installation of LED street lights in any wards despite declaring it on the last board meeting that installation work will commence from January. “It was first announced that the installation of street lights will start from January 1 and then the corporation informed that installation will start from January 15. This month is almost over but still, not a single street light has been installed in any ward,” said Sharma.
