Coronavirus Impact: GoAir senior management to take 50% pay cut
Senior management executives at low fare carrier GoAir are taking 50% pay cuts to control costs as the Coronavirus crisis cripples travel businesses in India and the world. “The top leadership has stepped forward and volunteered to go for 50% pay cut with immediate effect.
These measure are temporary and are purely with the intention to successfully combat the deep challenges that COVID-19 has created for the aviation industry including GoAir,” the airline’s CEO Vinay Dube wrote in an email to employees on Saturday
Employees at junior levels said they feared the cuts would spread to them too. The airline followed market leader IndiGoNSE -1.86 % which on Thursday implemented a top down 5%-25% pay cut across its workforce from April 1.
