Contractor fined Rs 23 lakh for stopping PWD road project
The state Public Works Department (PWD) has imposed a penalty of Rs 23 lakh on its contractor for stopping the construction of a road and failure to submit requisite documents to the Indora PWD division in Kangra district.
Arun Vashisht, Executive Engineer, Indora PWD, said that the department had awarded the work to upgrade and widen the Bain-Atarian-Paral link road to a Pathankot-based contractor in May. He, however, stopped the work midway and did not submit the requisite documents despite several reminders.
