Consumer group wants additional footbridge at Sanvordem station
Margao: Sanvordem-Curchorem Rail Consumers Association has written to the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), South Western Railway (SWR), Hubbali, pointing out to the lack of adequate passenger amenities at the Sanvordem-Curchorem railway station, thereby resulting in severe hardships to passengers.
The association has demanded construction of an additional foot overbridge with a ramp facility connecting the two platforms at their centres. The existing foot overbridge doesn’t have a ramp and is located at a distance from the main station building, thus inconveniencing elderly passengers and those with disabilities, it has said.
It has also demanded that the shed/shelter be provided along the entire length of the newly constructed platform No. 2, as also a toilet facility on that platform. Pointing out all the taps of platform no. 2 were dry, it has demanded that arrangements be made immediately for providing water supply.
