‘Complete R’kela Airport works before Hockey WC’
It was expected that the expansion work of the Rourkela Airport will be completed before the forthcoming World Cup Men’s Hockey-2023 which will commence from January 13 simultaneously at Rourkela and Bhubaneswar.
While 20 matches will be played at the newly built up Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium, Rourkela, 24 matches will be played at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. As all the 16 qualified international teams would be playing their matches at Rourkela and all the Hockey Olympiads are invited to witness the matches, there is an urgency of regular operation of the Rourkela Airport.
